Arena Capital LLC, with its affiliated entities, is a Miami-based, commercial real estate investment company that draws from a three-decade lineage of family-owned and operated real estate and banking businesses. Arena Capital LLC was founded in 2002 by the family’s “next generation” and has concentrated on acquiring, repositioning, and adding value to multi-family and retail properties for long-term investment. The company’s business activities have focused in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties during the past decade. From the outset, Arena’s strategy has been to seek off-market, non-institutional commercial real estate properties and inject fresh capital investment coupled with a creative entrepreneurial approach to enhance value and income generation. Arena Capital LLC has acquired more than 1,000 apartments and more than 500,000 sq. ft. of retail shopping center since inception. Arena Capital LLC represents the investment division of the company with Arena Management, a subsidiary, providing day-to-day, on-site management and portfolio oversight. The lead principals of Arena Capital LLC are Ana Maria Rodriguez, CEO, and Oscar Rodriguez, Chief Investment Officer.
Meet Our Team
Chief Executive Officer
Ana oversees the firm’s numerous banking and investor relationships. Ms. Rodriguez’s 20 years of experience began working with the family business followed by tenures with Nomura Securities and, subsequently, J.P. Morgan Investment Management (JPMIM), both located in New York. At Nomura, Ms. Rodriguez was part of the commercial real estate banking team, supporting the entire underwriting and financing processes. While at JPMIM, she served as an integral part of their in-house valuation group, overseeing a portfolio with over $5 billion of multi-family and $10.8 billion of retail properties.
Prior to joining JPMIM’s valuation group, she worked in their capital markets group where she helped secure over $900 million of senior debt, as well as $60 million in mezzanine/B-note acquisition. Ms. Rodriguez holds a B.S in Business Management from Babson College. She is a member of the Young Leaders Group at the Urban Land Institute, The National Multifamily Housing Counsel, and the Miami Chamber of Commerce. She is also in the board of the NextGen for Chapman Partnership for the homeless, and Big Brother Big Sister. She holds a MRICS from The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
Chief Investment Officer
Oscar grew up in his family’s real estate business and is currently responsible for the day-to-day execution, leasing, and ongoing development of the Arena Capital portfolio. He brings more than 16 years of experience in acquisitions, dispositions, and property management of multi-family apartments and retail shopping centers. Directly involved in every aspect of the company’s day-to-day activities, he works with the finance and acquisition teams to ensure continuity to the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Maria Del Pilar Pineros
Maria is a founding member of Arena Capital, LLC which she started in 2002 with Ana Maria Rodriguez. She currently continues to serve as a director of the firm along with her son and daughter. She is also the founder and partner of two (2) day care businesses in South Florida, with locations in Key Biscayne and Brickell. Maria Del Pilar has extensive entrepreneurial experience, having owned and operated a day care business in her home country of Columbia from 1981 to 1996.
