The Pura Vida Hialeah mixed-use project broke ground with a handful of well-known tenants already signed up.
Located on nearly nine acres at 2901 W. 16th Ave., the project will have 260 apartments and 51,000 square feet of retail space. Tenants will include a Wawa convenience store and gas station, a You-Fit Health Club, a Taco Bell and a Dollar Tree.
Pura Vida Hialeah should be completed in 2020.
The project is a partnership between Arena Capital Holdings, led by Oscar Rodriguez, Ana Rodriguez and Sebastian Roiter, and Coral Rock Development Group, headed by Stephen A. Blumenthal, David Brown, Victor Brown and Michael Wohl.
“This is an exciting beginning to what will soon be an extraordinary and vibrant urban environment for Hialeah,” Wohl said.
There will be three apartment towers of three stories each, with one having 11,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. The units will range from 538 to 1,099 square feet. Amenities will include a pool, a gym, a dog park, and a barbecue area.
It’s near U.S. 27 and that highway’s intersection with the Palmetto Expressway and Florida’s Turnpike. Many industrial areas in that part of Hialeah are being redeveloped into residential and mixed-use.
